Bankruptcy Decisions Part 6

“The Law Won’t  Allow Me To File”

In 2005, Congress passed a sweeping change to the bankruptcy law.

The first thing it did was make it more difficult, complex and expense to file. But it did not outlaw or make it impossible to file bankruptcy. The banks, credit card companies and collection agencies would love for you to believe this lie, but it’s not true. Yes, you will have to “qualify”, but more people are filing bankruptcy than ever before, the number of bankruptcies filed in 2009 will probably surpass the level seen right before the law changed in 2005.

If you believe that you can’t file bankruptcy because “someone told you so” — than you need to get some good counsel.

Every situation is different – so you need good advice.
